About me

  • I have been Professor of Economics at the University of Bordeaux since 2003 (Full Professor since 2020)

  • I am Researcher at Bordeaux School of Economics UMR CNRS 6060

  • I been holding the French « Habilitation à Diriger les Recherches » since 2018

  • In 2000, I was Post-doctoral fellow of the Oxford University (UK), Department of International Development, under the supervision of Frances Stewart

  • I am the head of the M2 Conception et Conduite des Projets de Développement (University of Bordeaux)

  • I am also actively involved in the brand new "French Association of Development Economics (AFEDEV)" launched in 2022 (https://afedev.fr/)

 

  • My research deals with economic development,  structural transformation, distributional change and political economy in poor and middle-income countries

  • I am interested in trade diversification, economic growth and macroeconomic volatility

  • I am also working on income distribution and the economic analysis of social classes

  • Part of my recent work also provides a comparative analysis of institutional systems in developing economies

  • I also recently shifted my research towards sustainability issues
